| "River Wolves" |
| The moss-covered
rainforests of the Alaskan and British Columbian coasts are home to
surprisingly dense populations of timber wolves. Both grizzlies and
wolves travel the lush river valleys but increasingly trophy hunters
and clearcut logging practices are causing biologists concern that
these animals may seriously be reduced in numbers before their populations
can be assessed. This painting was made into a giclee edition to help
bring public awareness to the three year research project being conducted
on the wolf population of Pooley Island, located north of Bella Bella
on the BC coast. |
